18 Holes and Counting!

Our Love Affair with Golf!

“A New Year!”

It’s a new year and we at 18 Holes and Counting are really looking forward to seeing what is in store for us. We can’t believe it’s been 6 years since we started this blog while posted in Prague, Czech Republic. We were a couple of years from retirement and wanted to find something we both enjoyed doing together to keep us busy.

This blog was our answer!

Leaving our mark at the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake, Alaska!

Our Blog Swag!

More Blog Swag!

You see, golf has become a part of who we are as a couple.  It has traveled the world with us to well over 200 different courses.  We have met pro players and pro caddies.  We have played in pro-ams.  We have made new friends, and reconnected with old friends.

And we have met some wonderful recreational golfers like ourselves, all while enjoying every minute that this game has afforded us.

To qualify for a sticker, we have to golf & spend the night in our RV in that state!

So far, we have checked 27 states off our “golf bucket-list” to golf in all 50 states and we are still going strong!

Big-Dee came with a big red bow!

We have made a few changes to our RV set up. We bought an HDT to haul “Dee-Luxe”. We purchased “Mini-Dee” for easy travel in big cities. And we officially went full-time RVing in November of last year.

Mini Dee is small – but the clubs fit!
Our current RV setup!

States we still need to golf &RV in!

Now we are looking at this next year and asking ourselves what is in store? Where should we go? What courses are a “must play” for us? Do we head west, or east? North or south? So many choices for sure.

A few of our research books!

After much discussion and research, we have decided to travel to the Pacific North West. We haven’t really explored that area of the U.S. and the pictures we see from our fellow RVers who have been there, are spectacular.

So that’s what we are doing – we are packing up, looking at routes, booking RV parks and searching for the best golf courses in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington and Oregan.

Our plan is to continue to rate and review them along the way and hopefully entertain you as we do.  Remember, we aren’t anything special in the way of skill.  And we certainly are not looking at this from a professional point of view.

Our goal is to provide a fun and quick read with golfing insight from the recreational golfer’s point of view. Something we hope you will enjoy!
